The Story Behind the Studio

I’ve wanted to build something of my own for as long as I can remember. Now in my mid-forties, I decided the waiting was over.

Art has been part of me since childhood — I was the kid who stayed inside for hours drawing while everyone else was outside playing. Life got busy, and somewhere along the way I set that part of myself aside. But a slower season brought me back to it, and I remembered what I’d forgotten: how much joy creating things actually brings me.

The name Dearly Designed came together slowly. I kept returning to the word dear — something cherished, something made with care. And designed carries a meaning that’s personal to me: I believe I was created by the greatest Creator, and that being made in His image means I was made to create too. Everything that leaves this studio is an extension of that.

When you open a Dearly Designed envelope, my hope is that you feel it — the care that went into it, the intention behind every detail. Not mass produced. Not rushed. Something made for you, that maybe even stirs a little of that childhood feeling of wonder.

The two cats behind the magic have been an unexpected gift during one of the harder seasons of my life. Their sweet, quirky presence has brought me more comfort than I could have anticipated — and they’ve found their way into the heart of this brand because of it.

This studio is small, intentional, and made with love. I’m so glad you’re here. 🐾
